Undergraduate Projects
4th year project:
I used Time-domain Electromagnetic Sounding Techniques in order to resolve the structure of an ancient buried volcano, by measuring the resistance of the ground as a function of depth. This was in the Geophysics department at the Bullard Laboratories, Cambridge.
4th year field trip:
This was to Greece with the Geology department. We were looking at continental deformation and the varying rates of uplift due to small and large faults - how one large fault may dominate the motion over many smaller faults sloping in varying directions, even to a depth where plastic deformation of the lithosphere may occur.
3rd year literature review:
This was about comparing the velocity of radio trail sources, determined from the synchrotron spectrums in their trails, with that determined from their redshifts. This was in the Astrophysics department of the Cavendish, Cambridge.
