POLAR Beam Mapping

In the summer of 1997, We set up an antenna test range on the roof of Chamberlain Hall here in Madison. It was convenient because the building is L shaped and at each end of the L there was a 20 foot tall utility building. We set up a receiving station and a source station on the opposite utility buildings so that they were looking at each other. In this way, our source and receiver were elevated above any ground level interference effects and obstructions. We used the corrugated feed horns as the source and receiver and we rotated the receiver in a plane parallel to the ground.
