Oxford Experimental Radio/mm Cosmology
QUIET - The Q/U Imaging ExperimenT
QUIET is a new telesope being built to make very sensitive
measurements of the B-mode polarization of the cosmic microwave
background radiation. The instrument will consist of large arrays of
coherent detectors operating at two frequencies (40 and 90 GHz) and will
use multiple telescopes (3x2m + 1x7m) at 5,080m in Chile in the Atacama
desert. The measurements will cover angular scales from a few arcminutes
to a few degrees.
QUIET is a collaboration between
Princeton, Chicago, Miami, JPL, Caltech, Columbia, Goddard Space Flight
Centre, Havard, Stanford and Oxford.
