WMAP DR1 Product Format Information

The data made available through this page has been updated. The most recent version of this data may be accessed through https://lambda.gsfc.nasa.gov/product/wmap/current/

WMAP data products are provided in either FITS or ASCII formats. IDL routines to read these products are available from the WMAP Software page.

In addition to the WMAP IDL  software,  general FITS reading capabilities are available in a number of other software packages. Two other software libraries, which were also developed at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, are potentially of interest:

• FITSIO - A subroutine interface to FITS files
  
• The IDL Astronomy User's Library
